Teeth Whitening products?

I brush my teeth everyday, but I just can't seem to get them any whiter.

What kind of whitening product works the best?

Teeth Whitening products?
I LOVE Crest Night Effects...I didn't have much luck with the strips. I would just get mad at them and pull them off.

Crest Night Effects is a teeth whitener that works while you sleep, so it fits conveniently into your schedule. You'll have a whiter smile without giving up valuable time during your busy day. The competitive daytime paint-on teeth whitener is water-soluble so it may dissolve quickly. Normal daytime activities such as eating and drinking — even your own saliva — can wash most of the whitener away in as little as five minutes. So while you're waiting for the ordinary daytime whitener to dry, your already-too-busy schedule has just gotten crazier.

Using Crest Night Effects is as easy as getting ready for bed and going to sleep. Just brush your teeth as you normally would.

I saw a difference within days....Its a two week thing just like everything else but within 2 weeks your teeth are so white. People were always asking if I got them bleached...or saying that I had the whitest teeth they had seen.

Here is some information about them from the site...

Crest Night Effects is a teeth whitening system. You'll get a noticeably whiter smile while you sleep over 14 nights.* It even works on tough, everyday stains, including coffee and tobacco. Why is Crest Night Effects so effective at teeth whitening? The secret is our patented LiquidStrip Technology™ coating that stays on your teeth overnight. It whitens teeth at home, while you sleep.

The Color of Your Teeth

When you look at your teeth, the color you see is more than just the color of the surface. Because the top enamel layer is translucent, the color beneath is also visible. And since the things we eat and drink contain coloring agents that actually soak into our teeth, the layer beneath the surface of the enamel becomes stained, too. Juice, coffee, tar and tobacco for those who smoke, all contribute to making your teeth look yellow and dingy.

Teeth Whitening Dilemmas

Teeth whitening toothpastes and products only clean the surface of your teeth and don't have any way to actually whiten the stains below the surface of the enamel. Special whitening systems are available to penetrate the enamel — including paint-on systems. Many of these are water-soluble, though, and mostly dissolve away in as little as five minutes when they come into contact with saliva.

The Crest Night Effects Difference

Crest Night Effects' unique gel forms a LiquidStrip™ coating. The water-resistant coating holds the teeth whitening agent in place, slowly releasing hydrogen peroxide while you sleep. The LiquidStrip coating works to remove stains and loosen stain-causing buildup. In the morning, just brush the LiquidStrip coating and the stains away. After just two nights of using Crest Night Effects, you'll notice a clean, smooth feeling on the surface of your teeth.

How to Use Crest Night Effects

For the best effect, apply Crest Night Effects immediately before going to sleep. Don't forget to review our important tips for maximum benefit.

Do not apply multiple coats of the teeth whitening gel. Reapplication may remove the previous layer.

As you brush it on, you may find that Crest Night Effects does not form a complete or even coating on your teeth. This will not affect the whitening result.

You will know Crest Night Effects is working because you can feel the LiquidStrip coating on your teeth right after you apply until you brush it away in the morning.

You can sip water while wearing Crest Night Effects. We recommend that you do not eat or smoke while Night Effects products are applied to your teeth.

You may find that wiping your teeth with a tissue before brushing in the morning will help prevent the LiquidStrip coating from accumulating on your toothbrush.

Most people find keeping their mouth open for about 30 seconds helps the LiquidStrip coating set.

Good Luck!
Reply:Crest whitening strips that how I got my blinding smile :D
Reply:go smile.
Reply:colegate white strips or try baking soda on a toothbrush
Reply:Diluted hydrogen peroxide. It's cheap and it works.
Reply:I started using this mouthwash that's whitening,

it's 'crest whitening rinse' in the white bottle, it works and is easier then using the whitening strips.
Reply:Even the strongest whitening products will leave your teeth looking stained. Unless you want to pay excessive amounts of money each month to make them look whiter.
Reply:crest whitestrips

they're everywhere...u can go get them at target, walmart, or a pharmacy store.

also if u brush with some kind of whitening toothpaste it might help.
Reply:brushing teeth will not really help in getting teeth whiter. you can get a natural teeth whitening product that will help you remove tooth stain in just a matter of time. you can also tr to avoid culprits that can stain your teeth like coffee, colas, tea, plum, red wine, chocolates and sauces. it is also good if you try to quit smoking and stop the use of tobacco products. for more tips on how to make teeth whiter visit http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com

Wearing teeth whitening strips for longer than recommended...?

I was wondering if wearing a whitening strip for longer than the 1/2 hour they tell you to wear them is bad for your teeth of it it will just make them whiter? I think I wore one for about 3 hours once and my teeth were sensitive but nothing terrible.

Wearing teeth whitening strips for longer than recommended...?
better get checked out for dentures cos you will loe your teeth like that
Reply:My dentist told me not to exceed the time. As the stuff used for whitening removes the top layer of your teeth (which is usually all the gunk build up etc), and some of it absorbs into your teeth enamel. You can damage your teeth by over doing it and land up with falsies way before you become a senior citizen.
Reply:Actually, the white strips are a low enough concentration of the peroxide solution (bleach) that unless there are underlying defects already in the teeth, no notable damage will be done. Some of the bleaching systems I use are worn all night.

You should always follow directions, they are there for a reason. For most over the counter variety of bleaching systems, the peroxide breaks down over a short period of time; so wearing them longer than directed doesn't have a greater whitening effect.

Tooth sensitivity is a common side effect of the treatment. Sensodyne tooth paste works well to decrease the discomfort.

Good Luck!
Reply:Well, after the recommended time, a half hour in ur case, the chemicals stop working...so nothing continues to happen. I suppose it depends on the brand, but the ones I used stopped working after a certain period of time.

Teeth whitening kit?

i need a good teeth whitening kit. i tried crest whitestrips advanced and they did nothing, what a waste of time and money. is there anyone that has tried something that REALLY works? i dont have bad yellow stains really but they arent nice and white...

Teeth whitening kit?
You could always have a dentist professionally whiten them. It's expensive but it does work.
Reply:Yes, at Sephora.com they have GoSmile. It works great! I just got my braces off and used it. Miraculous. The downside is it's $80.
Reply:rembrandt 2 hour white!!!! it's only $20 and you can buy it from wal*mart or walgreens!!! it really does work!!!!! i promise!
Reply:Walgreens, they are american and work a treat, not sure you can get them here in the UK
Reply:The only thing that has ever worked for whitening mine is Opalescence. I went to my dentist and got impressions and took them home and filled it with the Opalescence *it comes in these little plastic syringes.

My teeth hurt like HECK but they are SO white now.

Everyone always comments on how white they are!
Reply:As a dental assistant, patience usually ask us that question. What I usually recommend, (I have done it on myself as well).

1. If you are not looking to spend $300- $500 going to a dental office, you should go in for you 6 month regular cleaning. Let the hygenis know that you will be using a home whitening kit. When you get home you should look to a product as crest, cologate, prosmile, gosmile etc. use it twice a day regularly, no coffee or teeth or anything that can stain your teeth.

Aslo I strongly recommend that you do get the listerine Pre-Brush. Use this as directed ( use before brushing your teeth in the morning) See link below.

This worked for me.

2. Sometimes home kits does not work well for some people. I recommend that after you have tried another home kit brand and really made an effort, Go see your dentist. There is 2 types that they have. One is that they have a laser treatment that is only 1 day and your teeth will be so bright that it would last for aleast 1 year. ( but there is a chance of you being sensetive for a few days to cold and air )

Then the second option that they recommend is that they have a home kit that is about $300 that they make a month piece for you. You are able to do this treatment on your own time and it's just like the crest except that it was made for your month only and it has a more lastng effect than the crest or any other brand.

As long as you stick to any product it will work.
Reply:i have tried many teeth whiteners yet they also did not do well to whiten my teeth even if they claim to promise to give white teeth results. now i am using Maximum Teeth Whitening, and i can really tell that it worked great for me. i had my teeth whitened in just a matter of days. it is safe and effective for i did not experience any negative effects. i noticed that my teeth stains have disappeared and this gave me good reasons to smile about.
Reply:I'm not too sure abt it. However, there are many ways to whiten your teeth.

Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth!

For home remedies.

Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month.

Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening.

Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth.

Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains.

If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here's something for you!

Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night

Reply:There are two main methods of bleaching. The first involves applying a high concentration of oxidising agent for a short period of time, which is the so-called office bleach. This produces quick results but risks chemical burns to the soft tissues. Therefore, most in-office bleaching procedures use a light-cured protective layer that is carefully painted on the gums and papilla (the tips of the gums between the teeth). The bleaching agent is either carbamide peroxide, which breaks down in the mouth to form hydrogen peroxide, or hydrogen peroxide itself. The bleaching gel typically contains up to 35% hydrogen peroxide equivalent.

The alternative method involves using a thin mouthguard or strip to hold a low concentration of oxidising agent next to the teeth for as long as several hours a day for a period of 5 to 14 days. This is known as take-home or over-the-counter bleaching. This is a slower process but has fewer risks to the soft tissues. The bleaching agent is typically less than 10% hydrogen peroxide equivalent.

A typical course of bleaching can produce dramatic improvements in the cosmetic appearance of most stained teeth; however, some stains do not respond to bleaching. Tetracycline staining may require prolonged bleaching, as it takes longer for the bleach to reach the dentine layer. White-spot decalcifications may also be highlighted and become more noticeable. Bleaching is least effective if your teeth have white spots, decay or infected gums. It is also least effective when the original tooth color is grayish. Bleaching is most effective with yellow discolored teeth.

Recently, efforts have been made to accelerate the bleaching process by the use of light. Studies have shown varying results as to the efficacy of light-activated bleaching.

Side effects of tooth bleaching include: chemical burns (if a high-concentration oxidising agent contacts unprotected tissues, which may bleach or discolor mucous membranes), sensitive teeth, and overbleaching (known in the profession as "over white teeth"). Rebound, or teeth losing the bleached effect and darkening, is also an issue, with some studies showing the rebound effect over 30 days. A recent study by Kugel et al has shown that as much as 4 shades of lightness can be lost over 30 days with light-activated/office bleaching.

Teeth Whitening Products?

What do you think is the best whitening product that you can buy for your teeth? Thanks!

Teeth Whitening Products?
Crest Whitestrips Premium
Reply:crest white strips they worked for me
Reply:another vote for Crest white strips Premium (not the regular).
Reply:Tried em all non of them do much of anything. Finally got veniers. They work.
Reply:I like Crest Whitestrips. It works great and lasts almost a year. It is about $25.00 for a two week supply. Two weeks is all you need to get your teeth a lot whiter.
Reply:i've only used the rembrandt brand whitening strips, but i've read that the crest ones are the best.
Reply:rembrant 2 hour whiting gel is great because its done in two hours not weeks
Reply:yes, crest whitening strips. although be careful they don't pull the enamel off your teeth. also, brush, floss and use mouthwash 3 times daily
Reply:Crest Whitestrips - Renewal.

I had incredible results!
Reply:I agree with the crest white strips... they can make your teeth sensetive however. I have been looking into Zoom or brite smile but they seem pretty spendy.
Reply:I am not really sure what the BEST is... But I recently tried the Crest Whitestrips. These really work great, plus they are affordable! The only con was that it made my teeth a little sensitive but it was only temporary. Try them, they work! Whitening toothpastes simply do not work at all, in my opinion. So save your money there!
Reply:1. BriteSmile (sometimes $399 on sale).

2. Crest premium whitestrips.

3. Colgate whitening toothpaste for maintenance.
Reply:it's not just exactally the products that work!!

it depends on if u smoke or how often u brush ur teeth.

and how long u brush ur teeth!! use ne crest product!!

it works 4 me!! ( p.s. i don't smoke so that is part of y me teeth r white!!)
Reply:I just used Rembrandt it was cheaper then Crest, it seemed to work pretty well.
Reply:Crest White Strips worked really well, I used the original which tend to be less expensive than the premiums. I also use whitening tooth paste, but be careful with how sensitive your teeth will get. You're supposed to stop use as soon as you start feeing sensitivity.
Reply:I found Rembrandt whitening plus toothpaste works well w/ about 6 months of use. However, I first start with the whitening gel,and then I'd follow up w/ the toothpaste and Rembrandt mouthrinse.

Teeth Whitening question with Peroxide?

Alright after reading all the posts about baking soda whitening teeth Im starting to try it, but I also heard that if you swish hydrogen peroxide before you brush that dramatically helps as well? Does this work or is it dangerous and shouldnt be tried? Normal CVS hydrogen peroxide is what I have

Teeth Whitening question with Peroxide?
You probalby shouldn't put undiluted peroxide in your mouth. At a concentration of 3%-what is normally available OTC- peroxide can be pretty caustic to the oral mucosa. I always advise my patients to cut the peroxide 50/50 with water. Tooth whitening gels contain carbamide peroxide which "sticks" to the teeth better. When it breaks down, it forms urea and H2O2. Interestingly, carbamide peroxide has been available as a treatment for mouth sores for years, packaged as Gly-Oxide.
Reply:i would think that after long time use it could eat the annamil off your teeth.(the peroxide) but i'm not completly sure.

Teeth whitening help?

I recently got my braces off and really want to get my teeth white. I know they wont be really white, they never have. They are just really yellow and dingy looking. I have tried all the colgate and crest whitening toothpastes and really can't see a difference. I am thinking about trying the strips, but would like a really good toothpaste also. Any suggestions?

Teeth whitening help?
Crest Whitestrips really work!!
Reply:The ten dollar brands in Walmart work great, but you have to actually use them as they suggest. If your teeth get sensitve to anything, just use a flouride rinse, like ACT. Takes all the sensitivity away in a week or so, and sometimes you'll notice it immediately with cavities.
Reply:Ask your dentist. You can take Fluoride tablets (but too much Fluoride has opposite effect). The dentist will bleach your teeth for £200 ($400).

But be aware: Your teeth should never be whiter than the whites of your eyes, or you'll have that "false" look.

Teeth Whitening Kits?

What are the best home teeth whitening kits on the market?

Teeth Whitening Kits?
Most toothpastes use one of two things to help whiten your teeth, coarse material, like baking soda, or a mild bleeching agent of one kind or another. A lot of stains are fairly close to the surface and these toothpastes will do the job on them quite well. But, for real whitening you need something more powerful, and that is simply carbamide peroxide, usually in the 22% range is best. In the past this was only available from the dentist but you can get it all day on the internet.

When you go to the dentist they will do one of two things, either offer a "kit" which has the dental, ie, tooth tray, along with the peroxide gel, or you can up the ante and go for the fastest and whitest of white smiles and get zoom laser treatments, but that will cost you a few bucks.

My best guess is that the dentist would charge you around $200 for the tray and the peroxide gel, but you can get it yourself from various sites for $30 to $45. It is safe and very effective. You can either use the "mold at home" type dental trays or you can get the impression kit and send off for a more professional "custom" tray which may cost just a little more.

Either way it works. If you find that the 22% concentration makes your teeth sensitive, cut back on usage, it will fade away quickly. Or you can go for the lesser strength product. Just follow the directions and don't go overboard and try to brighten your teeth by wearing it for 24hrs straight and your teeth won't get too sensitive.

Over the counter I don't think you can even get close to this kind of performance. I think the crest strips work about the best for that category from what I have read. But, I have used the 22% on and off over the years and it works great. Just do a quick google for carbamide peroxide and you will find lots of sites that carry it.

Good luck.
Reply:sometimes they can get expensive. most people i know ( and myself ) brush their teeth with baking soda every other time. it works really well!
Reply:The one made by Rembrandt is very good and only takes five days to see results. It is a little thicker than the Crest White Strips, but does fit your mouth pretty well. I have used it for a long time now and know that you will like it. The price is also right.
Reply:Gosmile works wonders. I smoked for 4 years and I used gosmile and it looks like I never smoked. The website has all of the information you need about it. Its a little more than what you will find at Target but a lot cheaper than going to the dentist and getting it done. I liked it, check it out and see if its for you. Oh yeah, and I have sensitive teeth and it wasn't too bad for me. Worth the 80 bucks.
Reply:Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and

are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural

tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries

but certain precautions have to be taken.
