Teeth Whitening.... effects on the enamel?

Crest whitestrips. Are they bad for you? Do you get sensitive teeth after using it?

What are some other affordable solutions?

Whitening toothpastes?

Teeth Whitening.... effects on the enamel?
any type of whitening effects the enamel. i tried crest and my teeth started to hurt really bad so when i went to the dentist i asked him to try it using professional solution, well it hurt any less. So i guess whitestrips $20.00 vs professional $100

whitestrips are the way to go cause both options are going to do the same damage to your enamel. When i was using whitening solution the dentist gave me i was also using the toothpaste EnamelOn- its an enamel strengthener toothpaste which helped ease the pain a little.

There are other whitening strips out there but ive never tried them. sorry

i think whitening toothpastes take too long to see a noticeable difference. thats just my opinion

Reply:I had my teeth whitened... it is not so good. teeth have small pores in them like your skin. the whitening process causes these pores to expand. this is very bad because it leads to tooth sensitivity, and even cavities. the white strips are a bit better, but after prolonged use can cause some serious problems especially if you have issues with your gums like gingivitis or have sensitive teeth to begin with. the whitening process works great, but it is not for everyone. try to use a whitening toothpaste first.
Reply:worries I saw you on the news today...!!
