Teeth Whitening COSMETIC..LEGAL OR ILLEGAL?

I cannot seem to find the answer to this..


General Dental Council ..Illegal if you are not a dentist, we will prosecute if we have evidence of an individual performing this procedure...


BABTAC Recomend not to invest in these machines as it is illegal in the UK


Pro cosmetic non Dentists..Legal ,we are not dentists, providing purely cosmetic treatment, one person even said around 5 years ago the EU brought out a rule/law recognising this as a cosmetic procedure. cant find that info any where!.Also if they are fully insured how can that make it illegal?


I have tried to speak to different people but seem to be going in circles.If it is illegal then surely there would be more than just 1 prosecution who claimed he was a dentist!


Cosmetic Teeth Whitening is in every paper, beauty salon, trade show how's this if it's illegal..


One thing i that also puzzles me is these compaines claim the product is 6% peroxide..That is over the legal limit in the uk, how do they get insured?

How can it be illegal and yet the dentists all advertise that they do it. I was in Selfridges in London and they were doing it on the shop floor??

Reply:i was just talking to my dentist about this yesterday - from 3 weeks ago teeth whitening is illegal ! in the dentist or out - england is the only place in europe where it isnt legal .. however most dentists still do it even though they face 6 months prison
