Teeth Whitening damage to gums?
Your getting the gel on your gums. Your either putting too much gel in the trays or you are not wiping off the excess.

Now, if you had in-office whitening, it is the same thing. The gel got on the gums and burned them. It will go away. Sometimes, if the seal on the gums breaks, the gel leaks onto the tissue. You might try something from the drug store called Glyoxide and see if it eases the problem. But rest assured, it will go away.
Reply:If you used strips then they are overlapping your gums and therefore burning them. If you did ZOOM the gum protection device wasn't placed meticulously, if you did the custom trays (best method) you either placed to much peroxide in the trays or the trays were not scalloped (cut around the gumline) to avoid any contact with your gums, they should cover tooth only.
Reply:some may find this odd but i was watching oprah about 2 years ago had some dentist specialist on her show on do it your slef dental and they said that f you buy MR.CLEAN magic erasor $3.99 and tear of a small piece wet it and then wipe your teeth vigorusly with it it will whiten them up signifigantly then brush immediatly afterwards my husband had a big yellow stain on his two front teeth before our wedding from smoking and i tryed it and you wouldnt even know he had a stain so maybe you could try it its good for Tons of other thing removes nail polish everything hope this helps even though it is a little bizzare but OPRAH said it so cant be that bad other wise im sure someone would have sued her by now for it
