Teeth whitening?

Does anyone know of a home remedy fo rteeth whitening. My visits to many dentists ended up with the same answer being it cannot be whitened as it is stained because of the tetracycline tablets i had taken when i was a kid.

Hydrogen peroxide and other popular products on the market (that are primarily hydrogen peroxide-based) may not whiten stains that are the result of tetracycline damage. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.





Tetracycline stains are unfortunately the most problematic and difficult to manage and remove. Many years ago tetracycline was prescribed by doctors as an effective antibiotic for treating many illnesses. It was even perceived to be a more effective treatment than penicillin. The devastating long term cosmetic effects on teeth enamel were not known at the time.





Many of today%26#039;s adult population who received tetracycline treatment are now faced with teeth stains that are seemingly unmanageable and frustratingly untreatable.

Various dentistry professionals and researchers discovered that tetracycline staining actually becomes darker as the tooth is penetrated below the surface.





Endodontic specialists at USC discovered an effective method of tooth whitening that involved bleaching each tooth - starting from the inner part of the tooth and bleaching %26quot;outward.%26quot; A fairly invasive technique however that required a complete root canal on each affected tooth. Veneers are an alternative.
Reply:I don%26#039;t know if it%26#039;ll work for your case, but a friend of mine uses hydrogen peroxide. it%26#039;s tasteless. She says to rinse it around in your mouth for a few minutes, or even just hold it in your upper lip while you watch tv, etc. (however you%26#039;d do that) but DON%26#039;T swallow it! keep doing that farely frequently throughout the week. She says it does a great job of whitening teeth.
