anyone used the whitening system that comes with the gel and blue light to whiten teeth. how much did u spend and did it work like they say it does. If anyone could recommend a good whitening system that can be used at home and something taht really works. please share your thoughts !! thx
Question about Teeth Whitening System whitelight zoom??
I just had the Zoom done by my dentist, and the treatment took 1 hour cost $465 and made a shocking difference in the color of my teeth, about 7 places on those porcelain color samples. The difference was truly great. The compound hurt one tooth a little, just a twinge, and there was no soreness or any other reaction. The price included a set of shaped mouthguards and a large quantity of compound to allow extra treatments at home to maintain the improvement.
Reply:Hello Angel
I have the perfect whitening system for you.
Please Email me.
Reply:I have seen the Zoom system used in a couple of offices that I worked and I personally was not impressed. I see better results with the custom made trays.

Will teeth whitening (brightsmile®) brittle my teeth? I am veri interested and will do it within days.?
Brightsmile is very expensive and can cause a lot of sensitivity. Also, after you have it done, you should not smoke, drink colas, teas, or wines. FOR A WHILE, or you will be wasting your money. Stick to Crest Whitestrips or Rembrandt ones, and see if you like their results first. Do the 5 or 7 day ones. Do as directed. I think you will be pleased. Stay away from all those staining things I said above, also.

A recent test on the programme "How to Look Good Naked" by the lovely ladies rated the Pearl Drops toothpaste/polish the best and it was the cheapest too.
Reply:Those crest things are apparently quite good but Pearl Drops worked ok for me, it costs about a fiver and only took 2-3 weeks before I started seeing results, and that one packet has lasted about 6 weeks so far.
Reply:try Janina toothpaste, works really well non abrasive and not too expensive, cost around ten pounds from boots.
Reply:Good old Baking powder, 40p a tub from the supermarket. I use it 3 times a week and my dentist says my teeth are fab. No harsh chemicals to strip the enamel either. Dip your damp toothbrush in to the powder and away you go.
Other than that I also use Arm %26amp; Hammer baking soda toothpaste too.
Reply:Crest whitening strips do work well and they have the benefit of whitening your teeth by using a bleaching gel rather than Pearl Drops which can only remove surface stain by removing a thin layer of enamel thus thinning your teeth. Crest whitening strips can lighten the colour of your teeth beyond their natural colour while abrasive pastes and powders can only restore your teeth to their natural colour and no more. in fact over time thinning your teeth can make them appear darker. A word of caution though-read the instructions carefully. As a dentist when I bleach patietns teeth I advise them to avoid red wine and black coffee for 2 weeks as your teeth are more porous during bleaching and can actualy absorb stain at this stage. Also and fillings/crowns/veneers will not become lighter in colour so bleaching is not recommended unless all your front teeth are completely natural tooth tissue. Alternatively you can bleach your teeth and haev the filings replaced at a later date to make them match again.
Reply:There are several types of products available for use at home. Some of these tooth whitening products can be easily purchased off the shelves of pharmacy while others are dispensed by your dentist.
One popular tooth whitening product that you can use is bleaching solution that contains peroxide for bleaching tooth enamel. The bleaching agent in these products is usually carbamide peroxide, which is available in 10, 16 and 22 percent concentrations.
Whiteners that contain peroxide typically come in gel form and are placed in a mouthguard. Some products are used twice a day for 2 weeks while others are intended for overnight use for a 1 to 2 weeks period. If you can obtain the bleaching solution from your dentist, he will be able to construct a custom mouth guard to fit your teeth precisely. Currently, the American Dental Association endorses only dentist-dispensed home-use percent carbamide peroxide tray-applied gels.
In addition to bleaching solution, whitening strips are increasingly being used as a preferred tooth whitening product. For instance, you are now able to get your hands on a set of Crest Whitestrips Supreme from any convenience store. The flexible, invisible strips are coated with an enamel-safe tooth bleaching gel. To whiten your teeth, you simply place the strips on your teeth and wear them for about 15 to 30 minutes each day. After a period of about 21 days, you should be able to see a significant difference on the brightness of your teeth.

Teeth whitening treatments?
does anyone know if there are any effective teeth whitening products that you can buy over the counter or on-line?
It's actually for my boyfriend who was recently less than impressed by his teeth when he saw photo's of himself grinning on holiday! :)
Teeth whitening treatments?
I used the Crest Whitestrips Premium and the dental assistant at my dentist's office went gah gah over the color I was impressed to, but hey! She sees a lot of teeth!
Only had to use them for a week, too. Definitely worth the money.
Reply:Try this http://www.expresswhite.co.uk/index

Reply:Make a paste from baking soda and lemon juice. Rub on you teeth and rinse. Do this every second day.
Reply:GoSmile is very effective. It can be a bit pricey, though. I've also tried one of those nighttime whitening treatments. They work excellently and his smile will be white in no time.

Teeth whitening ways?
i would like to have whiter teeth ...is tooth whitening a good method? or are there safer ways?
Teeth whitening ways?
the main way of whitening your teeth is brush with good toothpaste twice a day.once before sleeping and the second time after waking up.there is one more effective way, that is use mild baking soda once in a month and brush your teeth hardly.the dentist told me this method and it is effective.
CAUTION:do not eat baking soda while brushing.

Reply:White strips and home treatments barely work. Get them bleached at a dentist. It's fairly inexpensive and it works very well.

Reply:The best way to do it is getting orbit whitening gum. I have chewed it and my teeth are white. Also, use whitening tooth paste. You don't need to wear the disgusting things on your teeth that make you want to puke like the whitening strips. Just chew alot of gum.
Reply:Have it done by the dentist
Reply:Hey, the best way for teeth whitening is Sonicare tooth brush, check it our if you are in US. i am using it, and the result is remarkable.
Reply:My teeth became whiter after purchasing a Braun electronic toothbrush. I also use a product called "Gly-oxide" which consists of carbamide peroxide and can be purchased in the dental section of most stores. Carbamide peroxide is the same substance that most dentists use to whiten your teeth (only they use a little stronger solution). I mix it with my toothpaste and it helps brighten my teeth. Some people have naturally darker teeth, not due to staining. If you had yellowish teeth as a child/teenager this may be your natural color, in which case whitening procedures may not help too much. Your only alternative would be to get veneers placed on your teeth ---- very expensive!!
Reply:All toothpastes are abrasive. Tooth whitening paste/gel are even more so. Used daily for long periods they may be detrimental to your teeth and gums. A better way is to get a dentist to scale and polish every 6 mths / yearly
Reply:Most teeth whitening methods are safe if done properly by dentists. There are number of ways to whiten the teeth depending on how much you want to spend, how fast and how white you want. Also it depends on the type of staining you have (staining from outside or staining within the tooth).
The most common available techniques are:
1)Tooth pastes
2)Gel, strips
3)Trays (at home)-
4)In office whitening
5)non-vital bleaching
6)veneer
7)crowns
Reply:Crest white strips work great and are safe. You just have to use them as directed, or it won't work for you.
Reply:Years ago I got bleaching trays from my dentist. They were made specially to fit my mouth and they were expensive. $150 about 8 years ago. they came with a peroxide solution. I was to wear them while i slept. The gel oozes out of the trays, even with a minimal amount used. Also the next day, my teeth were very tender, is the only word i can think of. They were also sensitive to cold/hot for awhile. They did whiten my teeth, but i dont know that I would use that route again.,

Teeth whitening kits?
Do they actually work? I want to get my teeth really white but don't wanna pay for the proper one which costs more than £200. I've seen teeth whitening kits in Boots for about £15. Anyone who has used- them do they work well? Thank you
Teeth whitening kits?
The cheap ones have the same ingredients and they work just fine. Just buy the generic brand. Leave it in as long as possible but don't fall asleep with it in, trust me that sucks. Also you might want to use the Listerine Whitening Mouthwash, that works great if you use it twice a day. And its under ten bucks.
Reply:Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries but certain precautions have to be taken. I found the information at http://www.aches.in/toothwhitening.html
Reply:They work but of course not as dramatically. If you have any white fillings tho, the fillings don't bleach.
Reply:I use the cheap CREST whitening strips that can be bought for 30 dollars ar costco and they work really well. You leave them on for about an hour each time for just 7 days and you see a difference. TRY IT!
Reply:My mom used one of those cheap whitening kits bought from a store- she said her teeth were sensitive to it and it hurt a lot... but it actually worked... I don't recomend it though... teeth problems might come with it (no matter how much it cost or how good people said it was).

Teeth whitening- how do you get pure white teeth?
ive had lazer whitening with Britesmile and Zoom but it only lightens the shade and lasts at best a couple of weeks. What systems do celebrities like Simon Cowell use to get that really bright snow white teeth. Any recommendations?
Teeth whitening- how do you get pure white teeth?
Dont know about the celebs - some look like veneers covering the teeth rather than withening systems- but at the dental clinic where I work, slow release bleaching is recommended over laser. The results are generally longer lasting. It may be a pain in the *** for some people as you have to wear custom made trays over your teeth at night for 2-3 weeks, but I think it is worth it.
I've done it myself and reached the top shade A1 in two weeks. It's lasted over 6 months so far. As I do drink coffee and red wine (both very staining) I use the pro-whitening brush head on my electric tooth brush once a week and I think that is helping to maintain the white appearance. I have a couple of syrnges of bleach left for doing top-ups in another few months if needs be.
Reply:the reason they are so white and bright is because they have had veneers fitted

Reply:I'm not certain what the celebrities use. Personally I've never gotten my teeth whitened or used an at home kit. I'm a smoker so I have a hard time keeping my teeth sparkly white. Peroxide is what I use. I use it just as I do with Listerine rinse. I brush, peroxide, then rinse. If you've never done this before, I'm warning you that the foam may be overwhelming at first. But, if you stick to it you'll get used to it. It works wonders. I promise =].

Reply:From the many best teeth whitening methods, in-house teeth whitening kits are sold in the market. These kits consist of plates usually attached to the teeth and enclose the gel that comes with the gel. Whatever any method you choose, important thing is your teeth become very bright to enhance your looks. The time frames required to make the difference will vary, but the effectiveness lies only with the professional doctor. You will not be able to do it by yourself.

Listerine Whitening Rinse is GREAT!
Reply:just swish 3% hydrogen peroxide mixed with on part water in the mornings, and flouride at night

Besides being one of the best natural detergents, baking soda is also a good abrasive that will not damage the enamel on your teeth.

Teeth whitening can not lighten fillings, but can it remove stains that form on white fillings?
I have white fillings (like veneers they cover the front of my teeth, but are not porcelan, but the cheaper stuff the dentist uses, I think it's called agar?)
Over time stains have developed on them, would a teeth whitening kit bought from the chemist or going to get it done at the dentist remove the stains even if it doesnt lighten the actual filling?
Teeth whitening can not lighten fillings, but can it remove stains that form on white fillings?
That's not so, these whitening products are strictly for natural teeth, in fact they may discolor the filling material making it look worse.
The best thing to do would be to bleach your natural teeth to a lighter shade, and redo your veneers.
Your veneers aren't really supposed to stain like that, you may have recurrent decay underneath,it would be a good idea to visit your dentist.
Reply:nope, my dad is a dentist and i've worked at his office. the filling material comes in different colors to match your teeth so if you lighten your real teeth the fillings will stay the same color.

Any recommendations on which teeth whitening method to use? Anyone had "zoom" whiting?
I am getting ready to get my braces taken off after wearing them for just over two years. I want my teeth whitened, but I am told that "Zoom" whitening causes severe sensitivity. I am considering using bleaching gel in my retainers at the recommendation of my dentist, but I am informed that this causes uneven whitening and patches. I am curious if anyone has had their teeth whitened and regretted the outcome, or if zoom whitening is really the way to go. Help me decide!
Any recommendations on which teeth whitening method to use? Anyone had "zoom" whiting?
Hi, congrats on getting the braces off! I'm a pre-dent student and I'm nothing short of obsessed with white teeth. My mom did zoom, without first consulting with me ;)... anyhow, it's very expensive, considering. It's just an in office application done intensly to quickly whiten teeth. This causes severe sensitivity.
I HIGHLY recommend a product called "Plus White". I've used everything, and by far this is the best. It's cheaper than Crest's white strips at about $10 for the kit. It comes with a mouth tray and you just apply the gel to the tray and wear it. The box says 5 minutes, but I usually go for about 20 or so to speed the process up. After a few days you will notice a difference. Sensitivity may occur but if it does, you can slow the process down or even stop for a few days.
Your retainer is made to fit your teeth so applying gel to it will causes uneven whitening, beware.
Good luck!!
Reply:I use Imagewhite this stuff really works good for whitening your teeth. I only used it 4 times and i am stopping because i am so happy with how white my teeth are now, my mom said you look like a star... You can buy the stuff at www.imagewhite.com . Hope this helps you out Report It
Reply:Talk to your orthodontist. I've never heard about "Zoom", but I did ask my dentist if it's better to go to a dentist rather than use the kits you can buy. He said the only reason to go to a dentist is if you are too lazy to do it yourself. This is what he was told at a seminar led by a cosmetic dentist.
Reply:I've tried all the different ways to whiten out there and I'm very happy with the bleach trays. I agree that the ZOOM whitening causes a a lot of sensitivity, but it does go away in a few day. WhiteStrips work ok, but they don't stick very well. I'd go with the whitening gel. Good luck
Reply:Lysterine has a nice and gentle whitening mouthwash that I use. It takes a while but it does work.

Is teeth whitening gum really effective?
Seeing as most teeth whitening products are so expensive, would a 79 cent pack of gum really be effective? If it is, how effective is it? Does it really whiten teeth?
Is teeth whitening gum really effective?
They're effective in removing stains from your teeth, especially after eating and consuming drinks such as coffee, tea, or soda. And this helps whiten your teeth a bit, so I recommend buying them (I usually keep a pack myself). It is also advantageous to use whenever tooth-brushing is not possible or convenient.

if you're trying to do it yourself, then maybe you might want to try Ionic White tooth whitening system, or if you still prefer to go to the dentist, you can try view this website 88db for list of dentist thats within your budget

Will teeth whitening work on darken tooth after root canal?
My front tooth is turning darker due to root canal treatment. Will professional teeth whitening such as Britesmile work or is getting a crown better? I was hesitated to get a crown because I am afraid it won't look natural on the front teeth.
Will teeth whitening work on darken tooth after root canal?
No, whitening will not work on this tooth. I think a porcelain crown would be your best bet. It will probably look more natural than any other option you have. Another choice though that hasn't been mentioned is nonvital bleaching. My husband had it done on a front tooth and it made the darkness lighter, but it still is a little bit darker than the rest of his teeth. I've seen mixed results with this procedure. If you go to the 1st link below and scroll down to the pictures and where it says nonvital bleaching, it will show a case that didn't work out, but that tooth was really dark to begin with. The second link shows one that worked out better. But talk to your dentist about it and he will be able to give you choices and help you make the decision that is best for you.
Reply:No, Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about that but get a veneer put on it if it bothers you. It is turning dark because it does not have any nerves in it and it is basically a dead tooth therefore it turns dark and unhealthy looking.
Reply:Whitening will not help with the tooth that has had a root canal; the crown will be the best way to go. Make sure that the dentist makes an all porcelain crown for this tooth!! A crown with a metal sub-structure will cause a dark line next to the gums %26amp; won't be very pretty when you smile! I also recommend that if you are interested in having a whiter smile, bleach your teeth with the Crest White Strips before you have the crown done. Because if you decide you want to bleach after the crown is done, it won't match your pretty, white teeth (crowns will not get lighter if you bleach them). Good luck!
Reply:There is a procdure dentists do called internal bleaching, they open the tooth and bleach it from the inside out. I will be honest, it is not that successful. If you have had a root canal, you need a crown anyway and they can make it match your other teeth. If you do not have the tooth crowned, it will break and possibly become nonrestorable.
Reply:The response just above mine is proof-positive that hygienists should just stick to cleaning teeth, and not give out dental advice. They don't know what the hell they're talking about.
The answer to your question is "yes". But you need your dentist to do it for you. There is such a process called "internal bleaching", a procedure that is used on endodontically treated teeth, which helps greatly with discolored teeth. Depending on the extent of discoloration, the bleaching material may need to be replaced a greater number of times. But it does work, and it works very well.
Your question is somewhat of a moot point, since endodontically treated teeth ought to be crowned anyway. I would still recommend the internal bleaching, however, because it will allow you to get a better cosmetic result...even with the crown over it. All-porcelain crowns typically look the best, but the downside to them is that the lab making them must take into account the shade of the tooth beneath the crown. If it is excessively dark, the lab will have to use more opaque porcelain on the inner layers of the crown to prevent it from showing through, which is less lifelike in appearance. We're talking very slight differences here, but if you're like me (very concerned with the appearance of your teeth), you should take every step you can to assure the most cosmetic result.
MODIFICATION: Just a moment ago, I went back and read all the responses to the initial question. Isn't it amusing to see how the dental student (probably a first-year student who hasn't taken endodontics yet), the hygienist, and the dental assistant all gave wrong answers?
I then happened to see that another dentist was the only one responding who knew about this well-known procedure called "internal bleaching".

Best teeth whitening strips? reasonably priced.. read?
i was wondering what the best teeth whitening strips are.
i know they're not like wicked cheap.. but which ones work the best that you can buy at a drug store??
my teeth arent like really bad.. but i just want something to whiten them up a bit (i just got my braces off).
also, if you know of any that do NOT work.. please let me know.
thankss

I have used Listerine Dissolving Whitening Strips.
http://www.listerinewhitening.com/
They don't taste bad, they actually dissolve, and they worked for me. I too had braces (at age 42!) and my teeth now seem whiter.
I prefer the dissolving strips. You can put them on at bedtime without worrying about swallowing the strips. (Yes, that's happened to me).

Reply:I use Crest Whiten Strips and have for years and am always happy with the results. I have found that the walmart brand of these do not work, so don't waste your money. It may also take a few times before you get the shade you want. I use them twice a year, after a cleaning at the dentist, and I also use Crest Vivid White tooth paste for both day and night. This helps even the color out after you have used the strips and gives them a boost in between whitening. I also suggest buying an electric tooth brush, this will help naturally whiten your teeth and keep them this way.
Reply:try to choose a teeth whitening system that has quality ingredients. having quality ingredients can give safe and effective results. try not to expose teeth to stain culprits like coffee, tea, red wine, chocolates, plum , sauces and sodas. smoking can also cause tooth discoloration, and it is best to avoid it. ask your dentist good ways to keep teeth whiter. visit http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com for more tips on how to get whiter teeth that you desire.

Do teeth whitening strips damage the enamel?
I've heard whitening strips damage the enamel. Is this true? If you know for sure how they work and whether or not it's safe, please let me know. If they do damage your teeth, is there another, safer, method of whitening your teeth?
Do teeth whitening strips damage the enamel?
Yes, they weaken your enamel. Most over the counter whiteners are meant to produce results in a very short period of time, and use ingredients that are very harsh. You'll get white teeth, but you'll also get tooth and gum sensitivity. You may not be able to drink hot or cold beverages some a few days. And your gums may turn white and become sore. I would recommend having a dentist do an in-office whitening. The process is also quick, and you may experience sensitivity as well, but the main difference is the dentist is careful to isolate tooth structures,. (the gel will not touch your gums)
Reply:i just got done using crest whitening strips and they haven't done any damage and i know person who has used them several times and they havent damaged the enamel at all. if you still dont trust them you can use this stuff that you brush on your teeth at night. forget what its called tho
Reply:Yes they do.. teeth whitening strips damage your teeth if used in excess. True story my old roomate was a dental hygenist and he use dto always come at me with crazy stuff. He suggested I did NOT use teeth whitening strips and if I had too, then only use exactly by the directions on the box. Also go in cycles. Use a box or whatever, then stop for awhile and so on, prolonged use he told me was damaging.
Interestingly enough he told me that our teeth, are actually supposed to be a yellowish off white color. There is a protective substance over our teeth to keep them from damage and naturally are teeth should be off white and there is nothing wrong with that. Problem is society says you have to have white teeth. SO if you do use these teeth whitening products just be warned your teeth will look brilliant, but your moth will always be very sensative to anything cold hot spicy sour etc etc... is it worth it? Not to me it aint. So use thjem but only inmoderation and read directions carefully. Otherwise just brush, floss, and moutwash regularly. That will keep teeth healthy and clean ...
Also he would ALWAYS tell me to chew ICE BREAKERS gum in the cubed form. He told about the ingredient in it called Sorbitol. He actually told me that the sorbitol found in ice breakers gum is actually better for your teeth than brushing them!!! No lie... he did also remind me that chewing the gum is not an alternatie for brushing as the gum couldnt scrape away old food..lol.. but yea.. so keep a good regular routine of rinsing, brushing flossing... and chew the blue packages of ice breakers gum in the cubes form...
good luck with your teeth
Reply:It is safe as long as not abused or used improperly. Some people use the Crest whitestrips daily or monthly instead of the safe 1 time a year. Other use them underage, it probably is not safe to use until enamel is fully mature. For most people, 16 or older would be a safe age. The above statement is good, but they now make gum with Xylitol also which is even better for your teeth. However, you should brush your teeth. Gum is a good substitute during the day.
Reply:Not to worry too much as only over usage will hurt your enamel. To avoid this, you just have to simply follow the instructions carefully and limit the usage.

Will teeth whitening make enamel erosion look better or worse?
I want to have my teeth done but I have slight erosion on the tips of my front teeth that you can hardly see but I notice it. Will teeth whitening make it look better or worse? What do you think? My teeth are an okay colour but I would like them whiter!
Will teeth whitening make enamel erosion look better or worse?
Are you calling erosion the whitish areas on the tips of some teeth or is it areas on your enamel that are chipped away? Erosion is actually a wearing away. Enamel mottling is white spots. Sometimes the teeth will lighten to match the white areas better, but sometimes it makes the white areas whiter. No real way to know unless you try it.

COSMETIC Teeth Whitening...Legal or Illegal?
According to General Dental Council this practise is ILLLEGAL, yet this is widley advertised in every paper, trade show, beauty salon? They claim if information is sent to them of this practise they will investigate and take them to court, they have prosecuted 1 person so far who actually claimed to be a dentist!!!
Pro cosmetic teeth whitening claim it is purely cosmetic that they are not dentists and it is Legal, one person i spoke to claimed that around 5 years ago the EU recognised this as a Cosmetic procedure, i cannot find anything about this???
It seems i am chasing my tail on this subject the GDC saying it's illegal well they are protecting the Dentists interest and then the companies that are performing the procedure saying it's not illegal!!
Can anybody givel me any legal advice on this subject or where i could find this supposed EU law on Cosmetic Teeth whitening?
As if it is illegal then why are they not doing more to stop it?I
COSMETIC Teeth Whitening...Legal or Illegal?
I think to be safe, you need to go to an actual Dentist. You will find they offer the service for at least £400 + (usually around £600) - not these other make shift companies, who are just in it for the money etc. At least you know a proper Dentist wouldn't perform an illegal procedure and risk losing their licence.
Reply:I thought there were issues with legality regarding Consumer Safety. Whether if was infact a safe product to use under the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
The way i understand it, the only issues were people using the kit when their gums/teeth were in such a condition to cause more harm than good.
Reply:It is no longer illegal. check out http://www.teethwhiteningreviews.com for recent articles.
Reply:I had it done by my UK dentist that advertises it, it is not illegal,
cost about £500 - not really worth it tbh.

OK to use tooth-whitening rinse if I have sensitive teeth?
I have sensitive teeth and use sensitive-teeth toothpaste. I was recently enticed by tooth-whitening rinse with hydrogen peroxide, but I fear that it will undo all the sensitivity protection that my toothpaste has been building up. True?
And does this type of rinse really whiten teeth?
OK to use tooth-whitening rinse if I have sensitive teeth?
It doesn't work and you will undo all the good that lovely toothpaste has done. Ouch.
Buy a different mouthwash and floss regularly. If you want whiter teeth, ask your dentist.

Reply:The whitening solution in the rinse is very weak. I doubt it'll cause you any problems. I have to use my sensitive-teeth toothpaste exclusively and have used it as long as I can remember. I bought some whitening rinse but it tastes so terrible I rarely "remember" to use it.
Maybe you will be able to build up sensitivity protection and stop the sensitive-teeth toothpaste, but I haven't been able to.
I used Sensodyne for years and have just switched to Crest ProHealth this past month. I haven't had any problems switching but my husband had to switch back.
Some years ago, I used Crest White Strips (recommended by my dentist) and found they did not whiten my teeth. I drink strong tea every day and probably undid any good they did. When I tried them again recently, I had terrible gum pain and had to stop. My dental hygienist says she uses the strips and just takes a couple of Tylenol. That wasn't enough for me. The pain lasted about 3 days. So, I am not going to go to the dentist for a whitening experience any time soon.
Hope your teeth whiten up nicely.
Reply:If you have sensitive teeth, can consider using some homemade remedies to whiten your teeth.
The most common option used as homemade teeth whitening agent is baking soda, which has a mild bleaching action. Given that it is used in baking, it also implies safety. Baking soda is sprinkled on the toothbrush, and teeth then cleaned using a gentle, circular motion. Care should still be taken though, especially for people with gum sensitivity. Old wives’ recipes often state that a paste of baking powder, a little salt, and a few drops of white vinegar, works effectively.
Salt, used exactly as baking soda, is also touted as being a good teeth whitener. However, it might just be its osmosis, dehydrating action that makes teeth appear whiter, since dehydrated teeth look whiter.
Lemon juice is often used, but it had high acidic levels, so teeth can weaken in the long run. Other natural, fruit options regard rubbing the inside of an orange peel on the teeth. A strawberry cut in half and the inside rubbed on teeth also works. Mashed strawberry can also be applied with a toothbrush. Apple cider vinegar is also said to be effective. Dried orange rind, and walnut bark, is also good.

The two fake teeth will not whiten with teeth whitener, you will have to go to your dentist and have them taken out and make new white ones.......then you'll need to worry about your other teeth, because you don't want to have two white front teeth and then the rest yellow.....hope it helps
Reply:No problem, if you just not brush your teeth they will all fall out and then your new ones will all match. In the mean time keep your mouth closed and no one will notice. You probably have bad breath anyway.

Teeth whitening, help.?
does anyone know if ithere is anything you can do to whiten your teeth, besides whitening strips?
and do crest whitening stips actually work??
Teeth whitening, help.?
Crest strips do work if you use them as directed which can be kind of a pain. You can have the ZOOM or Britesmile done. Those are done in the office by a qualified assistant and can take up to 2 hours to complete but they get pricey anywhere from $250 and up! Also you can get custom fit for trays and do it yourself they will fit a lot better then the whitestrips and all you have to do it buy the tubes of bleach for them.
Reply:m 2 i have yellow teeth i go to the dentist and he give me crest for whitening teeth + white paint
Reply:you can go to the dentist but the strips do work
Reply:I've noticed that they sell the Crest Whitestrips at my dental office. They have it at every station, and that's what made me buy them. Of course, I didn't buy them when I was at the dentist, but I bought them at the drugstore a few days later.
They work well, although they may make your teeth and gums sensitive so just watch out for that. But for 35 bucks, it's a lot cheaper than getting professional whitening done.

Professional Teeth Whitening - Dental Trays?
I'm wondering if anyone got a mold of their teeth and gels from their dentist to whiten their teeth. I'm curious how well it worked (I'm looking to achieve movie star white teeth) and how long the results lasted. I'm also wondering how easy/difficult the trays are to use, and the length of time you had them in each day.
Finally, what specific gel did you use? Nite White? Bravo? And what strength - 16%, 22%, etc.?
*Please respond only if you've had professional whitening done, not over-the-counter agents, like Crest Whitestrips.*
Professional Teeth Whitening - Dental Trays?
I've tried them all, strips, in office bleaching, and always go back to my trays. The others just don't last and I like the fact that I can touch up whenever I feel they need to be done. And yes, they do get you to the movie star white, my shade is at a B 0 if your familiar with the shade guide. I always get complements on my teeth being white. As for the results, it takes a couple of weeks depending on how dark your teeth are to start. Usually it's two weeks of about an hour a day then you just touch up every 3-4 months using the trays one day for 30 min's to an hour if needed after that. I've gone 6-7 months at a time without touching up. Something to consider is that with the in office bleaching you don't get the trays and solution to do this with either. The trays aren't really noticable when you wear them for bleaching. I usually do mine when I'm showering and dressing for work. They are easy to use, comfortable, you hardly notice you have them on. The solution last a long time, I've had my last syringe for nearly 2 years now. If you keep it refridgerated it last a lot longer. And you can always get the solution from your dentist. What could be easier? I'm using the Nite White at 22% right now but have used others at lesser strength at different times. It just depends on what we have at the office as to what I use. They all do a good job, some may cause a little sensitivity. You just use them less time or reduce the percent of solution to reslove that problem. Hope I've given you all the information you need to get you going. You won't be sorry, I've been doing mine for over 15 years now and still love it and recommend it. Good luck!

Best way to whiten teeth? whitening products, do they hurt?
What are some really good teeth whitening products I can use? Also, I have one tooth that's out of alignment and starting to get hidden behind on of the other teeth (hopefully I can get Invisline braces after I graduate college) so would the strips kind still work alright on that tooth? Or should I get paste or gel kind?
And i've heard these products can make teeth sensitive..is this just temporary, or can it be damaging?
And does using baking soda really help? Baking soda toothpaste doesn't do crap, but how about straight baking soda?
Best way to whiten teeth? whitening products, do they hurt?
I am currently using Rembrandt's Professional White. It is a gel that you leave on your teeth for twenty minutes max every night. It isn't awful at all and I have had no side effects.
As for the braces, I am a college student and have been wearing invisalign for almost a year now. There are not noticeable and for small changes like just one tooth out of line it is a simple task.
Also if you do end up getting invisalign, they work as whitening trays. Every night I just put the rembrandt whitening gel into my liners and leave it in overnight. In the morning it rinses out fine and I straightened and whitened my teeth all at the same time.

whitening strips. idk if they work good.
i would try straight baking soda, because just get it wet than brush your teeth. thats how they used to do it.
and try not to chew colored gum, cause that can leave marks.
and mouth wash more than once.
or brush twice, but not to much cause u want enamel
Reply:i used crest whitestrips last february and while they do work really well, i have had a LOT of sporadic tooth sensitivity even to this day. the effects are just starting to wear off, so they do work, but the tooth sensitivity is a bit of a pain. it doesnt happen often but when it does it is quite uncomfortable. ;/

Reply:-whiting gels or strips...like crest or listerine
-stirps would work fine, but i think the gel would be better
-it makes your teeth sensitive if you leave them on too long
-don't use strait up bakingsoda, mix it with peroxide
-i hear rubbing your teeth with a strawberry whitens teeth too....i've personally never tried it, but it was on the tyra show(don't even know why i was watching it in the first place)
Reply:Okay....
I would suggest getting your teeth cleaned first by your dentist, then follow these procedures to keep your teeth white.
1.) Floss thoroughly.
2.) Brush teeth for 2 minutes at least.
3.) Gargle with Listerine.
Then once a week, use a whitening gel that you can apply in strips to your mouth, and let it sit there for 30 minutes.
Baking Soda is a bad idea, I wouldn't suggest it. Crest or Listerine brands (whitening strips) are fine for whitening teeth, just don't leave them in long.
By doing this, you don't damage your teeth and increase the health and strength while giving yourself a great shine. :) Hope that helps you out. Remember that your local dentist can give you further advice!
Reply:Baking soda (pure) really does work. It gives the feeling like you have just had a cleaning because of the mild abrasive, but is safe for teeth.
The strips would work okay, for your other teeth, but if that one tooth is badly aligned, you may want to try the gel.
They can definitely make the teeth sensitive after the first few applications.
Reply:I would rather have the dentist do it. But if you're close to graduating college like a year then I would wait because they got to put this glue stuff on your teeth to make the braces stick which will be a waste of money if you whitened your teeth from a dentist. So in my opinion I rather have a professional do it. You get to pick how white you want it and it last longer.
Reply:wouldn't go for the baking soda
I used the crest whitestrips and they worked amazingly
the sensitivity is just temporary and its not much its just a bit tingly, once your done with the treatment your teeth feel normal.
And i think the strips would work best on your tooth otherwise you have to get those trays and i dont know about them.
Reply:My favorite are Rembrant Whitening strips. They aren't as awful tasting as Crest's are. My teeth are pretty sensitive so after the full week of using them, the teeth get even more sensitive but it wears of after a day. Also Rembrant's strips stay in place much better than crest's do, which is why I like them better.

Teeth Whitening Remidies?
Does anyone have any good tips on how to whiten your teeth, with something from home,WITHOUT going out and buying a teeth whitening kit for 100dollars.
Thanks.

Teeth Whitening Remidies?
okkay well for the teeth thing, try staying away form things like caffine and soda. theeth will seriously stain oyur teeth. also try some of that teeth whitening gum
and the acne stuff try clean in clear acne control. it wont make them go away over night, but it only takes like 2 days. i used it before picture day, and my hucrongus zit was gone. if its not gone completely just try some conceler.
Reply:Sugar would destroy your teeth. Try baking soda.
As for the acne problem, I hear that toothpaste (not gel) that are spotted on your acne will help if you put it on before your about to sleep.
Reply:i know that you can whiten your teath with baking soda mixed with a bit of hydrogen peroxide, just make sure not to brush your teeth with that every single day, cause baking soda can make your enamel dissapear, if you use it too often. but i know it works, cause i tried it
Reply:I know this isn't homemade, but you can get Crest Whitestrips for about $30, and they really do work! I did this about a month ago and people are always commenting on my smile and how white my teeth are.
About pimples, i use Neutrogena On The Spot, rubbing a ton of it on my face from the moment it looks like a zit is coming on. Even just overnight there is a HUGE difference, in 2 days the pimple is usually gone.
As for sugar with toothpaste, it would basically scrape away the outer enamel layer, making your teeth appear whiter, but they will be REALLY sensitive! definitely not a good trade-off. Same thing for crushed coal (sounds weird, i was told about it long ago and i used it, it worked but i found out how horrible it is later! i definitely paid the price.)
Good luck!
Reply:Whitening: Brush your teeth and floss first. Baking soda once a week. It's too abrasive to use every day. After baking soda, rinse with salt water. Mix 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide with 1/4 cup warm water. Rinse and hold for a few minutes in your mouth DO NOT SWALLOW.
Rinse and brush your teeth again.
The baking soda removed really stuck on stuff. The peroxide gently bleached some of the stains.
Pimple overnighter: a sliver of a clove of garlic with a drop of vegetable oil. Smush together and put on pimple, cover with a tiny bandaid. Should be gone by morning.

be sure to maintain proper brushing and careful flossing to be able to remove stain on teeth as well as plaque. at the same time, you can also try using an at-home teeth whitening that can help restore white like what you have ages ago. make sure that you choose the right product that contains quality ingredients that is safe and effective.

Teeth whitening for my wedding?
Does anyone know of any tooth whitening products that actually work? I want to have whiter teeth for my wedding photos, but I cannot afford to pay $800 for zoom whitening at my dentist. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Teeth whitening for my wedding?
Well, zoom at my dentist was only $500 (in Chicago burbs) and it included the trays and DayWhite to keep whitening afterwards. It was the best $500 I've ever spent. HUGE difference in just one day.
I'd price shop the Zoom with other dentists in the area. The trays from the dentist also seem to work really well, just not as quickly as the zoom.
I tried the crest whitestrips and didn't notice a difference at all, which is why I decided to go for the Zoom.
Seriously, if you can swing the expense somehow, it is worth it. Price shop first though!
Reply:My husband and I did the crest white strips a few months before we got married. I think they worked out fine.
Reply:If you have the time... Crest whitening stripes work. Also you might ask you dentist what he recommends.
Reply:Besides the white strips, which work okay, go into your dentist for a good cleaning a day or two beforehand. Just a simple cleaning is very helpful get all the plaque off! Worked great for mine!
Reply:those crest strips actually work
in about a month u see a huge difference
Reply:I've used britesmile in the past and plan to use them before my wedding.
http://www.britesmile.com/
It will run you a few hundred, but in my opinion its worth it. OH, and if you get on their mailling list you'll get special offers. I did and got my 1st whitening for only $300.
Its done %26amp; over with in 1 hour. If you have sensitivity, its only for one or two days. And you only have to watch what you consume for 1 day after the process. Its really quick, which is why I feel it is worth it.
Reply:I don't reccomend the whitening products off the shelf. You can get a professional strength of the Crest White strips but here's the problem.......unless you have a perfect smile in the perfect size the strips will only cover a few teeth on the front of your mouth. What ends up happening is you have 5/6 really pretty white teeth...and the rest are the same as before and it shows in pictures.
Switch to a whitening toothpaste. Testing shows Ultrabrite is the best and talk with your photographer about whitening your teeth during post-production. It may cost a little extra but much better than using the cheapo Crest strips and having a half-white mouth and (some dentists say) damaging your enamel.
Reply:Go to ADA.org website. Search for DENTAL HYGIENE schools near you. Some have PUBLIC dental clinics. They do at home whitening kits for 100 bucks or less. Im in massachusetts and at my dental hygiene clinic at home whitening professional kit is only 50 bucks now! So if u live in Mass go to www.qcc.com and call the main number and ask for the dental clinic.
otherwise use Ultrabrite toothpaste (cheap and works best as reported by consumer reports magazine for whitening toothpastes). Or try crest white strips.
Teeth are not suppose to be white by the way. No long term stuides have been done about the safety of whitening teeth.
Reply:I used Crest whitestrips for a week and they really did whiten my teeth, the only thing is they weaken the enamel and now my teeth are quite sensitive (2 months later).

Teeth Whitening and how much it cost?
Have you got your teeth whitened in the dental office with the one hour tooth-whitening process? Does it work and how much did it cost you?
Teeth Whitening and how much it cost?
One hour whitening can range between 300-500. Yes, it does work for certain people. Your dentist can tell you if you are a good canidate for that. The one hour is good for people that would not like to use the tray and bleach system at home, because that can take up to four weeks to get the same results. But, is is cheaper. So, are you impatient? If so, the one hour will do the trick. But, in my opinion, the tray system works better because you can do it for as many weeks as you can tolerate, hence, better results.

Teeth whitening? Is Laser Bright Legit/safe?
Theres a teeth whitening place that just opened in our mall. Found it out that it opened in the mall but they are offering 20 min teeth whitening for only 99 dollars. Seems like a good deal but i was wondering if any one has done this or known someone who has. The price goes back up after valentines day....your advice and opinions would be great. Also...Side affects if I choose to do it and say it's not legit.....
Teeth whitening? Is Laser Bright Legit/safe?
Don't waste your money, i paid $149 for 30 mins, did not show any difference at all, the lady got quite flustered and advised me to have another 20mins free of charge. It still did not show any difference. Its up to you, but iam looking to have my teeth whitened professionally at my dentist.
Reply:As I understand it, the "laser" or "light" portions of the bleaching have no effect. It's peroxide that does the bleaching. Stick with the WhiteStrips or equivalent, or get custom bleaching trays fabricated by your dentist, who can provide the appropriate strength peroxide gel.
So, I'd say it's safe (since the lights don't do anything), and you might have whiter teeth, but a nice set of bleaching trays is a much better investment, since you can come back to them in a couple of years and touch up if you desire.

Teeth Whitening: Over The Counter Products From Boots Etc?
I would like to get my teeth whitened but cannot afford professional dental fees at around £300.
I am aware that places like Boots offer DIY teeth whitening products which are cheaper-but do they really work?
Anyone tried any of these? If so was it any good?
Thank you
Teeth Whitening: Over The Counter Products From Boots Etc?
There a quite a few in the local shops at around about £15 which is a pure bargin. They contain, gum shileds whitener and a light to see your teeth in a diff light
Reply:Lemon juice, baking soda or baking powder can also be used for teeth whitening. Rubbing the bark of walnut tree brightens the teeth. Strawberries are natural teeth whiteners, simply rub them directly on your teeth or mash into a paste and apply.More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://useinfo-dentalcare.blogspot.com/

Teeth whitening help?
I got a teeth whitening kit... not the strips but the gel that you apply onto your teeth with a brush and let it sit for a while. Problem is that the kit doesn't give good instructions at all!
How long should I leave it on? And after applying, what do I do? Do I make sure that my teeth are exposed and I'm not allowed to close my mouth, or am I allowed to close my mouth? I thought that if I closed my mouth, my lips would rub the gel off?
Teeth whitening help?
Usually you apply and let it sit for 30 minutes and just rinse your mouth with water. You can close your mouth!
Reply:You can close your mouth. :)
Look up the brand on the internet.
It should give instructions online :)
Reply:That one doesn't work too well.
Get crest night effects. It's great.
You apply the gel before you go to bed after you have brushed your teeth. It will dry and turn in to a wax. In the morning you wipe it off and brush your teeth. You'll see a difference is just a few days. (I use it once a year)

Best teeth whitening kit???
A question for people who have tried all (well not all...but u know :P) available teeth whitening kits: I'm a smoker, and I just finished my box of crest white strips plus...but it didn't really do much but give me horrible tooth aches, and slide off my teeth...and whitening my gums...and irratating them...I want something that has like really good results, available in Canada and less than 50$Any advice for how to use them would be great aswell! Thanks :D
Best teeth whitening kit???
whiten teeth with comfort, ease and save money using at-home teeth whitening that contains high quality ingredients that can safely and effectively whiten teeth in just a period of time.
you can also maintain pearly white teeth by avoiding teeth-staining culprits like coffee, tea, colas, sauces, chocolates, plum, red wine and the likes.
using dental floss and brushing teeth proper is the best natural solution to remove stains from teeth every after meal.

Reply:I know in the US they have whitening systems you can buy that have trays you put the whitening gel in and you bite down. This way they don't slide around. All you do is dip them in warm water and then gently bite down on them they mold to your teeth and they were like 25-30 dollars here. They worked pretty well for my wedding. I could see a difference.
Reply:I bought my custom made tray from my dentist... I paid a hefty price.. but the bleach is cheap.. I bought my first set of gels from the dentist.... now I buy them on e-bay, it is less expensive... but be cautious and aware of the product you purchase and the expiration date... if you go that route. I prefer the custom tray because it doesn't leave any room for the gel to escape. I usually only use it maybe two days in a row maybe every six months. Btw.. I am a smoker too...I get compliments all of the time.
The kind I use is DAYWHITE EXCEL is is 9.5% peroxide. I love it.
Reply:Although there are many so called “at home teeth whitening” products, the best way to get your teeth whiter is to visit a cosmetic dentist. Here are some reasons:
1. In addition to have a whiter teeth, you’ll get a good dental check up and have your teeth professionally cleaned.
It would be a little silly to have your teeth whitened when you have some underlying problems like cavities or gingivitis. That would be like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Remember that you need to have your teeth free from plaque or tartar build-up before using any teeth whitening products. Otherwise they won’t be able to reach the enamel of your teeth and won’t work well.
2. You will also have your mouth checked for oral cancer.
If you haven’t had a dental check up in more than a year, your dentist or the hygienist will inspect more than your teeth. He or she will conduct a complete examination of your mouth for early signs of cancer of the lips, gums, and tongue. This is important, especially if you’ve ever smoked or used smokeless tobacco.
3. Professional teeth whitening gives better results.
Most at-home teeth bleaches and whitening systems can only whiten your teeth by a few shades. The most common ingredient in teeth whitening systems is carbamide peroxide. At-home products contain 10% carbamide peroxide. The professional teeth whitening systems that dentists use contain 15% to 35% carbamine peroxide.
With these professional teeth whitening systems, a cosmetic dentist first cleans your teeth with pumice and then puts a barrier over your gums to protect them. He or she then applies a peroxide gel to your teeth and leaves it on for 40 minutes.
Cosmetic dentists can also use laser teeth whitening systems. The dentist applies a whitening gel to your teeth and then directs a laser at the teeth. The laser activates the hydrogen peroxide in the gel.
4. Your dentist will tell you what you realistically can expect from teeth whitening procedure.
There is a natural variability in the color of teeth. You can whiten your teeth by a few shades with an at-home teeth whitening product, or many shades if you have professional teeth whitening. But teeth come in various shades of white and off-white, and the amount of whitening that is possible with your teeth may not match your expectations. Your dentist can tell you what you can expect.
5. Professional teeth whitening is fast.
Most home whitening systems can take weeks and weeks of treatments to whiten your teeth. A professional teeth whitening can lighten teeth by up to eight shades in one session.
6. Professional teeth whitening is less likely to weaken your teeth, irritate your gums, or over-bleach your teeth.
Teeth whitening, whether done at home or in a dentist’s office, can have some side effects. Your teeth will often become more sensitive to heat and cold. Usually, this heightened sensitivity fades in a few days.
You may also experience gum irritation. At-home bleaching products that use ill-fitting trays are more likely to irritate your gums than a professional teeth whitening at your dentist’s office. Your dentist will use a tray that is much more likely to fit well and provides barriers that help protect your gums from the bleaching solutions.
It is also possible to over-bleach your teeth with at-home teeth whitening kits. This can cause discoloration and blotchiness.
So, all in all, it is a good idea to bypass the home teeth bleaching products and head to a cosmetic dentist for professional teeth whitening.

Hi, I'm a dentist so trust me when I tell you not to use over the counter strips. They contain Phosphoric acid and you do not want an acid attack on your teeth enamel. Only two products are safe: carbamide peroxide -for home use- and Hydrogen peroxide for dental chair use. As a dentist I like the second one because patients can't control the amount of product they use. Ask your dentist about Hydrogen peroxide products. I got my teeth bleached and I can assure you it's a safe procedure if the professional knows what he/she's doing. Good luck!
Reply:Get it done by a dentist...Much better results...
Reply:My dentist made me trays (impressions of my teeth) which put on and put Bravo! whitening solution in. It worked in about 2 weeks. It did last. It costed me around $300.

Oh no! Bad teeth whitening! help!!!???
I used the aquafresh teeth whitening trays... and after two days... 2 small parts of my gums are PAPER WHITE! like... completely white... and i have little super-white spots on my upper teeth... and on the bottom teeth, the top half is white-white, and then the bottom half (closer 2 my gums) is my natural tooth color.... HELP ME!!! DID I RUIN MY GUMS AND TEETH!!!??? I had my grandma call her doctor and ask about this particular tooth whitening product, and he said it was fine, HELP!!! PLEASE!!!
Oh no! Bad teeth whitening! help!!!???
woah, you need to drink less coffee!
Reply:STOP USING IT! It may be taking the enamel off your teeth. Dont ask your Gma's doc...Go to your dentist.
Reply:Had it been a while since you had had your teeth cleaned by a hygenist at a dental office? If it had been longer than 6 months it may have caused your teeth and gums to become extremely sensitive. But I would follow up with a dentist if I were you to make sure that the teeth have no real damage to them.
Reply:You should call a different dentist and if your t hat concerned and its that bad then make an apppointment. Look online and talk to people there may be a recall on it!
Reply:It sounds like you just irratated your gums. If the doc said it was fine then its fine. (hopefully he was a dentist..if not, call your dentist and ask..they are the only one that can really give you a good answer on this). Dont use that crap anymore..it sounds like you overdid it...or else your gums are very sensitive and cannot take the chemicals that are in that product.
Reply:I have those whitening trays as well. Chill girl! The trays aren't supposed to touch your gums when you lay the trays on your teeth. Within a few days, the whiteness will fade away on your gums. Next time, just be careful! You can continue to use the trays, but try not to let the gel smear on your gums. :)
Reply:You should be fine, the peroxide probably just burned your gum tissue a little. Give it some time and don't do anything that will irritate your gums more. The white spots on your teeth might be de-calcification - soft spots on enamel. As for the bottom half of your teeth either the whitener didn't reach that area or your roots are exposed and appear darker than the top.

Teeth whitening issues?
After I'm done with Invisalign, I'm going to whiten my teeth. I know your dentist can do that. How much is it? How long does it last? And is it a lot better than the stuff you can get in the store?
My other question is about whitening toothpaste. I use regular old Crest. What's the difference between regular toothpaste and the toothpaste with whitening? And does it actually work better than the regular toothpaste?
Teeth whitening issues?
why pay to have it done when you can get crest white strips, they are fantastic and work within a week!
Reply:Use Soda + salt. mix them and brush your teeth with that
Reply:Dentists will charge between 250 and 500 for teeth whitening, it really depends. Some dentists will do it for free if you are getting other treatment with them.
The trays they make for whitening are pretty much the same thing as invisalign trays. Ask your orthodontist if he can prescribe you a quality whitening product and just use your Invisalign trays.

Reply:Many are choosing professional teeth whitening, having it done by their dentist, as the best possible option. This is more expensive but guarantees a safe, fast and expertly done process that will result in evenly done white teeth.
The process is done faster by a dentist; who can whiten your teeth using a process that takes forty five minutes to complete. This process is done in three fifteen minute sessions. By the end of the forty five minutes the dentist will have whitened their patient’s teeth by eight to ten shades. Depending on how stained the patient’s teeth are this will be a substantial improvement. These benefits and more are what a patient gets by getting their treatment at their dentist’s office.
The dentist will use a gel that is put on the patient’s teeth. There is protection provided to the gums and lips so that the gel will not adversely affect them. As well, unlike the at home kits that can be used, if a person has the treatment done in the dentist’s office they will see results immediately. When they leave the dentist’s office their teeth will be whiter. At home kits take days and sometimes even weeks to complete the treatment process and so show their results slowly.

ZOOM TEETH WHiTENiNG.. IS IT WORTH IT?
Has anyone gotten zoom teeth whitening and is it worth it? I'm now 14 and i had braces from ages 11-13.. When i first got my braces, i was stupid and didn't always brush my teeth twice a day.. now that they're off, i regret that because my teeth arent white anymore. theyre not exactly yellow, but theyre not as white as i'd like them to be.. im currently using crest whitestrips premium plus. im on the the 5th day and theyre working pretty well, but i dont think they're going to give me the results i'm hoping for.. do you think zoom is worth it for me? if not, what other whitening methods would you suggest?
ZOOM TEETH WHiTENiNG.. IS IT WORTH IT?
Zoom is expensive and there is often a lot of tooth sensitivity afterwards. We no longer use this in our office. We switched to Crest White Strips Supreme (professional strength available through your dentist).
You may have a lot of sensitivity since you're so young so try the professional strength Crest strips first. Also, they're only like $55 whereas Zoom is anywhere from $400-900 depending on where you live.
Rule of Thumb: Use the lowest concentration of whitener that works. Don't go for the big Zoom right now, try the other cheaper stuff first.
Just my thoughts.
Reply:Good answer dental_hygienist
Reply:Zoom teeth whitening is very expensive for a very cheaper way you should goggle hydrogen peroxide into your mouth like mouth wash and your teeth would be super white and sparkly
hope it works for you=)
Reply:Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth!
For home remedies.
Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month.
Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening.
Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth.
Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains.
If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here's something for you!
Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night

Reply:Ok,you can buy a packet of 2 Crest whitening strips + 2 whitening Tooth paste that will last almost 2 months for only $50 in Sam's. And maybe Costco. I used them and they worked perfect. I feel like a seller now lol...
Reply:I'm another fan of the Crest Whitestrips. They work really well! My teeth were very white in less than two months! It's best to use them when you don't have to talk or use your mouth.. they say you can talk with them in, but they slip around if you do. Don't drink coke or coffee or smoke, either..that'll help them to work faster.
Reply:Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and
are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural
tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries
but certain precautions have to be followed. details

Reply:The best deal you can EVER get with $50 is maxodent at http://www.maxodentstrips.com because it works faster than the strongest crest whitestrips model available (its called Crest whitestrips supreme, which you can only get from the dentist) and is cheaper. Just follow the directions on the box, and you'll have super white teeth for your prom!

Teeth Whitening: crest strips?
I heard from alot of other answered questions on this site that Crest Whitening Strips are the best teeth whiteners.
If you have used these before, are they worth it? Do they dramatically whiten teeth? Please answer if you have experience with them.
They cost almost 35 dollars at drugstore.com and at most walgreens... are they really worth the money? If they are, does anyone know where to find them for a bit cheaper?

If u can wait for them to be shipped, try ebay. Whitestrips are awesome...they whiten ur teeth pretty quickly, but can cause sensitivity to hot and cold. Also check on their website, sometimes they have coupons u can print off.
Reply:They are worth it, they work GREAT. Though it's left my teeth very sensitive. If you use them, get some sensodyne toothpaste.
